You've probably never seen a band quite like this

Monsterboy LIVES is a two person full production indie rock band from Little Rock, Arkansas.

A 1923 five foot bass saxophone named Sweet Connie. Vintage guitars. Electronic production. World percussion. Live vocals. Strange instruments. Synchronized visuals.

And somehow, it is all coming from two people.

Chris and Veronica built Monsterboy LIVES around the collision of their musical worlds, creating a live show that can move from infectious indie rock to strange, beautiful, noisy, atmospheric places without losing the human connection at the center.

Their music has appeared on Peacock's House of Villains, NPR's Arts & Letters, and PBS NOVA's Building Stuff: Change It!.

Come for the giant saxophone.
Stay for the songs.

Meet Sweet Connie.
She's a 1923 Conn bass saxophone.
She's about five feet tall.
She's older than most of the buildings where we play.
And yes, she actually goes on stage with us.
Sweet Connie has become one of the sounds and sights people associate with Monsterboy LIVES, because apparently a normal sized saxophone just wasn't enough.

Wait. There are only two of you?

Yep.
Monsterboy LIVES is built as a two person electric band.

We combine live vocals and instruments, real time instrument switching, integrated backing tracks, and synchronized visuals to create a full production show without a traditional full sized band.

That means the show can fit into a surprisingly small space without feeling small.

Two people.
A ridiculous amount of gear.
A very large saxophone.
And a lot of noise.

Rocker boy meets classical girl

Chris started playing violin at six, discovered composing as a kid, and grew up through blues, rock, songwriting and electronic experimentation.

Veronica came from a different musical world, bringing classical training, saxophones, clarinet and a particular love for the lower registers.

When they started playing together, something clicked.
Monsterboy LIVES grew out of that collision.
The music keeps changing.
The instruments keep getting stranger.
The two of them keep making things together.
And somehow, the love story is still at the center of it.

One band. Several ways to experience it.
Monsterboy LIVES isn't limited to one kind of show.
Our core live set is a full production indie rock experience, but we've also built specialized performances around horror, unusual instrumentation, immersive visuals, holidays, storytelling and specific themes.
Some are loud.
Some are strange.
Some are beautiful.
Some are deeply weird.
All of them are very, very Monsterboy LIVES.
