Our Inspiration
Our music comes from our life experiences, and at the beginning we had a lot bottled up. When we would find ourselves immersed in a different city or at a festival, often times a collection of songs would come to us that reflected the adventures and culture we experienced there. At that time we felt releasing the songs individually and naming the collections after the event was the most authentic way for our audience to experience our music. This was the before times.
Around the time of the pandemic, we incidentally both faced an issue with our adrenal glands, each having a different rare condition. As a result we had to take a break from performing and recording, however we never stopped writing. What has resulted is several collections that seem somewhat unconnected. All snapshots of how our ship went through the last few years of almost losing each other in addition to the experience of living through a pandemic. What we will be sharing in our next releases will be our most honest and raw work to date. The next round of work will reflects the struggle, hope, sadness of different parts of the journey and how in the end we leaned on each other and found a community that helped hold us up.

Nashville Sessions
The first three songs released are titled the Nashville Sessions. The city is alive with music and thrives with venues in every nook and cranny of the landscape. Hearing so many unique sounds and meeting songwriters who work for labels that just produce music without having any instrumentation limitations, really changed how we saw music. We completely revised our process, starting to write each song to be its very best, regardless of how it would be performed live.

ATX Sessions
Next comes the ATX sessions. Being in Austin during SXSW is like Disney World for musicians. It is a magical and utterly exhausting marathon. We embraced the mantra of "Keep Austin Weird" when we added the bari saxophone to the show on a whim for our first trip to Austin in March of 2018. It was a hit, and we never looked back. We have Austin and all the people that travel to SXSW every year for to thank for helping us find our own brand of weird.

Flux Sessions
The current releases are part of the Flux Sessions, inspired by a grassroots Arkansas festival that we were invited to be a part of in 2018. After spending so much time in those bustling music scenes out of state, we came back to play for our home state. We did not know what to expect from a community built around a festival experience and less focused on the headlining music acts. What we found was community of artists that are creating something raw, and taking risks on new genres. We left with the pure joy of having shared our art and being accepted into their tribe.

'Roo Sessions
The next set will be the 'Roo Sessions. These songs were inspired by the magic that happened at Bonnaroo in 2017. A bit out of order, however some songs take longer than others to finish. Where Nashville gave us a broader look at the music industry, Manchester was when we connected back to what we loved about being on stage and writing music. A series of chance encounters landed us at the Festival and even more unusual luck lead to playing for and interviewing with MTV.com.
